Maritime Image of the Day: “Waterfront Playground”

PortandTerminal.com, December 20, 2019

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA – In this photo, taken in the 1950’s in Halifax, Nova Scotia, photographer Robert Norwood chronicles the last gasp of a secure world where youngsters, or at least boys, was nearly total. A time when the rules were simple. Be home for dinner when it gets dark, be polite and, for the love of God, don’t cause any trouble! A time when ports were part of the urban landscape and an exciting playground of sorts for adventurous young boys.
