A Second World War mine found by divers off the coast of Scotland has been detonated by the Royal Navy.
EDINBURGH – An 80-year-old German mine discovered in the Firth of Clyde on Scotland’s west coast has been blown up. The mine was trawled by a marine research vessel and was found to contain 770 lbs of explosives. A Navy bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion of the mine, which had been laid by a U-boat during World War Two.
