100+ tons of garbage washed up on idyllic Caribbean beach in Honduras after anti-waste barrier failure in Guatemala
TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS – A large ‘tsunami’ of trash has hit a beach in the town of Omoa in northern Honduras leaving nightmare scenes of pristine tropical beaches blighted by piles of garbage.
The Honduran government has sent an official complaint to Guatemala asking the neighbour nation to take immediate steps to halt the trash washing out to sea.
