COPENHAGEN – A.P. Moller-Maersk has launched a bold, new advertising video titled “Disconnected”. The shipping company describes the key message of the video as follows:
“New connections between people, processes and data can change your perspective on logistics.”
Fans of Maersk’s previous video “This is Your Brain” will not be disappointed with their latest effort which runs almost five minutes in length.
The latest video tells the story of how a trucker carrying a Maersk container through a wooded highway in Quebec, an executive leaving her office in Shanghai, a Maersk HQ employee sitting at a computer and warehouse logistics worker in Peru come together to solve a surreal problem each of them suddenly faces. Fans of the 2010 sci-fi/thriller movie “Inception” will see the influence that that film had on Maersk’s new video stylistically and in the manner of story-telling.
It’s a bold campaign in an industry not noted for its marketing creativity that hammers home Maersk’s vision to disrupt business as usual in shipping and logistics.
