A luxury yacht, LADY VANILLA, was engulfed in flames on Oct 2 at the Ligurian Loano Marina, Italy, and burned down to the waterline – a total loss. Overheating of the electric batteries in the engine room is believed to be the cause of the fire. Once the fire started, windy weather condition fanned the flames and quickly consumed the vessel.
The 95-foot Lady Vanilla yacht was built in 2002 by Custom Line. She cruises at 24 knots and reaches a top speed of 27.0 kn. She can sleep up to 9 guests taken care of by a crew of 4.
