Port of Long Beach photo contest captures beauty of our industry

LONG BEACH, CA – The Port of Long Beach this week announced the winners of its seventh annual PHOTO Program, a competition that tasks photographers with providing a window into the sights of the harbor’s docks, workers and marine life.

Photographer Stuart Kleinfelder won the competition with “Stacked High and Wide,” a black-and-white picture of cargo containers. Jasen Reyes came in second with a photo of a truck whizzing along the wharf, which he titled “Pace of the Port.” Weldon Spurling came in third for his untitled, abstract photo of the port’s bulk silos.
