BEIRUT, LEBANON – A new video has been released by the Arab media of the moment top Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani, and deputy commander of Iran-backed militias in Iraq, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, were killed in U.S. drone airstrikes in the city.
Soleimani was travelling to Baghdad on a private charter flight to meet with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the Iraqi leader of the Iranian-backed Shia militia when he was killed.

Massive crowds gathered Sunday (Jan. 3) in Baghdad to mark the one year anniversary of Soleimani’s killing.
The gathering coincided with increasing tensions between Iran and the United States in the last days of President Donald Trump’s administration, and many in the crowd demanded revenge.
The U.S. military flew two nuclear-capable B-52 bombers to the Middle East in a message of deterrence to Iran last week, but the bombers have since left the region.

New Video
This new video, which was first posted by Sabereen News on their official Telegram channel, was shared on several social media platforms on Sunday, as the footage was seen for the first time on the anniversary of the assassination of Soleimani and Mohandis.
In the video, which was captured by CCTV, a powerful explosion can be seen after the U.S. raid struck the convoy of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandis outside the Baghdad International Airport.
