Maritime Image of the Day: Can you spot the person?

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA – Today’s Maritime Image of the Day is a stunning photograph of the Faroe Islands taken by Nigel Danson, a landscape photographer and filmmaker from the UK.

The scale of Danson’s image is breathtaking. Believe it or not, if you look very closely you can just see a person standing in the photo.

*The Faroe Islands are a string of 8 rocky, volcanic islands between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean. While the islands are self-governing, they are part of the Kingdom of Denmark.*

About the photographer

Nigel Danson is a photographer with a compelling back-story.

In 2016, after founding and growing a software company from nothing to over 100 people he was almost killed in a car accident at Yosemite National Park. His car rolled three times and Nigel’s heart stopped for a period of time.

After a difficult recovery, in 2017 he refocused himself to pursue his lifelong passion for photography as a full-time career. We’re very glad he did.
