KABUL – Dozens of gas and oil tankers exploded following a major fire at Islam Qala dry port customs, located at the Iran/Afghanistan border. The port connects the insurgency-battered Afghanistan to Iran. There are reports of gunshots being heard.
So far the cause and amount of the damages & possible casualties is unclear but officials said dozens of fuel tankers have burnt to ashes.
Local authorities said they lack the required facilities to quench the inferno and have offered no comments on possible casualties. Sources posting to social media are reporting that there are already at least 10 injuries, one serious.
