LA Harbor Commissioner recovering from serious battle with COVID-19

My message is simple, COVID-19 can hit any of us at any time. So please follow the recommended precautions to avoid contracting COVID-19.

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Harbor Commissioner Anthony Pirozzi Jr. is recovering after a serious COVID-19 infection.

Pirozzi announced on social media yesterday that August 4th was his first day back at work since being diagnosed with COVID-19 in early July. He revealed that he had spent 3 weeks in bed with fever, cough, fatigue, change in taste, headache etc and had lost 20 lbs while ill.

Pirozzi said that his wife Carolyn was also COVID-19 positive but fortunately, asymptomatic. His two boys were not infected and are well.

Mr. Pirozzi was appointed to the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners by Mayor Eric Garcetti and confirmed by the Los Angeles City Council on October 8, 2013. He was recently sworn in for another term on the Board of Harbor Commissioners.

Pirozzi currently serves as the director of systems integration, test and launch organization at the Boeing Satellite Development Center. He has worked for the Boeing Company for 26 years, building and launching communication satellites.
