Hapag-Lloyd able to restart operations to the Port of Beirut

Hapag-Lloyd is the first shipping line to confirm that it will restart its services to the Port of Beirut | Reports damage to the container terminal to be only minor

BEIRUT – Hapag-Lloyd announced yesterday that it will immediately reinstate its services to the Port of Beirut, Lebanon and that it is accepting bookings for cargo to and from Beirut.

This is the first good news out of Port of Beirut since the massive explosion levelled it last week.

Hapag-Llloyd did note that it is still evaluating the extent of the damage to its containers that were present at the port during the blast.

It also confirmed that its offices at the Port had been completely destroyed.
