BEIRUT – Earlier tonight, the Aleppo countryside witnessed a number of powerful explosions, following a drone attack on the oil smuggling sites of the Turkish-backed militants.
The Syrian National Army, also described as the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army, is a coalition of armed Syrian opposition groups that oppose the Russian backed Syrian President Bashar Assad.
According to new reports from the Aleppo Governorate in Syria, Russian Aerospace Forces used drones to attack oil smuggling sites in the town of Tarheen.
Video footage showing the aftermath of the strikes was released on social media this evening; it shows massive fires at a site where a number of oil tankers are present.
This latest attack comes just a few months after the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a similar attack on the Tarheen oil smuggling sites of the Turkish-backed militants.
